Electricity Transmission

The electricity transmission segment registered an impressive growth of 10% in 2009-10. This was largely due to a number of measures undertaken by the government in this sector. The operationalization of the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC), establishment of two power exchanges in 2008 and the rationalization of transmission tariffs helped in this growth. There has been increased activity in the interstate transmission sector with the award of three Ultra Mega Transmission Projects ("UMTP") to the private sector.

We see all these factors bringing in additional growth to our electricity transmission business.
